Why St. Michael Indian School
Our mission is to provide students from local Native American communities with a quality education that is rooted in Catholic values, is sensitive to native heritage, teaches leadership skills, and enables students to contribute in a culturally diverse world.
We do this by focusing on a well-balanced approach that includes a college preparatory curriculum with faith formation and the exploration of clubs, sports, and service. Our community sets an encouraging, supportive, and diverse atmosphere with dedicated faculty, championship athletic programs, and enriching music and art education.
As a result, our prepared students go on to higher education nationwide with graduate attending top universities such as Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, MIT, Notre Dame, Stanford and Yale. Many graduates continue at state colleges earning scholarship awards for full tuition and pursue Master’s and Doctorate degrees!

FUNDING YOUR STUDENT'S PRIVATE EDUCATION
We are committed to making an education at SMIS possible for all families and students. In fact, we are currently the least expensive Catholic middle and high school tuition in the state of Arizona, and about 92 percent of our students participate in one or more types of financial assistance. Each school year, over $500,000 in scholarships and financial aid is awarded to students from organizations St. Michael partners with. There are numerous opportunities available for families to apply; some are academic based but most are needs-based scholarships.
