Brooke Overturf (SMIS ’13) was recently named as chair of the American Indian Services (AIS) board. AIS is a non-profit located in Salt Lake City, Utah that serves Native American communities across the country. Their mission is to create programs and generate funding that will help Native Americans receive a quality education, while still preserving their culture and honoring their heritage.
“I received an AIS scholarship my freshmen year when I attended Arizona State University. Throughout the years, AIS has stayed in contact with me to hear about how I’m doing. As they grow their alumni community of scholarship recipients, they are looking to the alumni of the scholarship programs to contribute ideas for future planning of AIS. I’m excited to become the AIS Alumni Board Chairperson. I am grateful for the support of AIS to my own educational journey and look forward to helping AIS continue to help many other Native American students across the United States who pursue higher education. “
